Are Traditional words on the way out?
I had this conversation with my parents at the dinner table this summer and it was pretty eye opening. I was talking about how annoying my little brother and his friends are with their text message slang they dump into almost every one of their conversations during the day. My sister and mom agreed but my dad had a whole other opinion. He explained that he has used the same language and slang he developed as a child and has witnessed patterns of change all through his life. He agreed that my brothers new slang was annoying but argued that mine and my sisters were just as annoying to listen too when we were preteens (ie talking like steve arkel and blossom). I though it was interesting.
